Nguyen Dang Khoat Gallery
Born in 1952 in Hanh Thien, Xuan Truong Cammune, Nam Dinh province.
Nguyen graduated from Fine Arts University in Ho Chi Minh City in 1983.
He is a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association and the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association
He confines his works to watercolour on silk and has developed an ethereal style that lends another world feel to his creations.
Several art critics have likened his works to the Singapore Nanyang-style of the
1950s –1970s.
His works are part of the collection in the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum and in private collections in France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, USA, Canada and Singapore.
Each painting questions the notion of ‘beauty’, ‘accuracy’ and ‘validity’ of existentialism theory;
analysing bipolar views of the mythic self,
life and the incessant search for truth.
