1972: Art Of Sculpture at STSRI-ASRI (Fine Art Institute) of Yogyakarta
His teaching career began at the Yale University New Haven, Connecticut, where he taught the art of batik. Soon he began to teach the art of batik in the east coast of United States and Gallery Send, Köln, Germany.
1995: Graduated with Master of Political Science from the Graduate Studies Program of Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta
His Works:
Over the years, Tulus’s signature works of colours, lines and shapes share his perspective of politics, Somehow his paintings, with its vivid images yet definite colours dares you to interact with the painting. His political statements expressed in his artistic works manage to be delivered gracefully without offence. In his works, he spins an entangled web of colours, which takes your mind deeper into discussion. It is his representation of the blurred lines of reality.
Exhibitions:
1977 to 1998: Had nine solo exhibitions and nine selected group exhibitions, in Yogyakarta, China, Paris, United States, Jakarta, Bali and Germany.
1990 - 1992: The Selected Group Exhibition of Indonesian Cultures in USA (KIAS), where he toured around the United States for two years.
