About her Paintings:
Juliette’s works are influenced by the allure and philosophy of the East, especially India. Writer Ruth Prawler wrote that in India, the sun shines hotter - the continent has a stronger climate. This is true when we are confronted with the strong and bright colours that permeate in Juliette’s works. Saffron orange for zeal and passion, cardamom green for the lushness of life and rice flour white for purity, peace and meditation. However it is the resplendent sunshine of gold, which is the colour of promise and hope culminating in joy that is generously used in her canvases.

In her works, Juliette depicts relationships between man and woman. Her liberal use of colours represent life’s abundant blessings but the poignant gestures of her personalities symbolizes man’s continuous search for happiness in adversity. The rhythmic movement of Bharatanatyam dancers is captured in her sensuous subjects. They are reminiscent of the majestic multi-limbed bronze sculptures of the Hindu Goddesses so confident of the bodies they inhabit demanding our attention.

Despite her country of birth and the countries Juliette has journeyed through, her destiny in art seems to rest strongly in the Indian heritage as she blends with the culture and believes that the “Karmic” cycle of birth and death and believes that her last life was that of an Indian. We have to wait and watch the inner Indian emerge from this French artist - a very interesting reincarnation.
