Andrew Jack

Andrew Jack Gallery

Born in New Zealand, 25 March 1963, Andrew Jack received his Fine Art degree from Queensland College of Art, Australia. 1986 saw him traveling the world before settling in Bali. In 1987, he was 'discovered' by Della Butcher and simultaneously shown at Galerie Santi, jakarta, Indonesia.

Jack lived in Bali for eight years, which has directed much of his oeuvre to this present day. He describes his work as the “meeting of Asian, Western and Australian influences.”

His unique technique of enamel oil-based paints with a high gloss resin finish is applied in layers and brings a three dimensional allure to the work. Depending on the materials and layers used, a creation takes two weeks to three months to complete.

The most notable characteristic technique is the linearity of his work. It is achieved by semi-controlled, sweeping gestures with paint dripping from his index fingers. Lending a more physical and spiritual attachment between artist and creation.

Collections include: National Museum Singapore, Singapore World Trade Centre, Jupiter Casino Australia, CDL and private collections in China, UK, USA, Indonesia and Singapore.
